Math Enthusiasts Travel to Singapore and Thailand

Dream big, aim high and keep the feet on the ground. A sentence to describe the 10th Grader math enthusiast of Bacolod Tay Tung High School, Johnavel Marie U. Ninoy.
Ninoy traveled to Singapore to compete for the 12th International Mathematics Competition last July 29 to August 1, 2016. Ninoy, a precious gem to the school and to her family, competed with 1,202 participants from 13 participating countries namely our country the Phillipines, Thailand, China, Singapore, Hongkong, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, India, Iran, Vietnam, Taiwan and Myanmar.
The gem, with her very best and full determination bagged the Merit Prize Award bringing great pride and joy to her Alma Mater.
"My journey with these kinds of International Math competitions has been fulfilling. For a math enthusiast, this is something big. It's amazing to see so many math wizards from different countries gathered in the same auditorium. I'm thankful to the efforts and support of mg family, school, coaches, friends and ofcourse to God. I'm happy to bring them honor with the award that I garnered,” expressed by Johnavel as she tells her journey.
To a future gem of the school, Chase Simon A. Ong, a grade 3 student of BTTHS traveled to Thailand last July 20-23, 2016. Ong, one of the participants in the International Mathematics Wizard Challenge 2016 with 868 participants from different countries. Returning home with A Merit Award, Chase surely brought glory to our school. Taytungian spirit never dies, whenever of wherever we are.
